John Coiro

Johnny C is the former owner/artist of Babylon Tattoo in Ft. Lauderdale.  He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City and graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale with a Associate’s Degree in illustration and advertising design.

A 20+ year veteran of the South Florida tattoo industry, he worked for the late Myles “Tatts” Taylor, one of the artists that pioneered tattooing in South Florida.  He also received one-on-one instruction from some of the legendary names in the industry including Lyle Tuttle and Philadelphia Eddie Funk.

John has been featured in many publications including Rolling Stone, Variety and Rock Scene magazine.  In 2003, John was chosen by City Link magazine as the best tattoo artist in South Florida.

John is well versed in all styles of art with a special interest in custom drawn tattoos and receives rave reviews from his clients on his lettering and super-saturated tribal.  They prefer his unique and intimate style, usually opting for a custom design rather than the usual off-the-wall flash design.

Having received his first tattoo over 35 years ago, John is not a recent addition to the tattoo community.  His skill at tattooing matched with fair prices and his drive for perfection has made John one of Whole Addiction’s valued players.
